Duncan Gay is the NSW Leader of the Nationals and Deputy Opposition Leader in the NSW Upper House. He is the Shadow Minister for Industry which includes the Primary
Industries, Energy, Mineral Resources, Fisheries and non-Medical
Science portfolios. He served in the Army Reserve 12 Company Royal Australian Army
Service Corp (Transport) at Marickville and the 19th Royal NSW Regiment
(Infantry) at Holsworthy. As Shadow Energy Minister Duncan is working hard to address the problems with infrastructure in the Energy sector. Labor neglected the problems in this area for more than a decade before attempting a fire sale of one of NSW's most valuable assets in the worst economic period in a quarter of a century. Now Labor's announcement of a delay in the sale of NSW's electricity retailers comes at a huge cost to the generators and is further evidence that Labor simply cannot be trusted to handle major transactions. Duncan is the Duty MLC for Dubbo and he also very much enjoys
visiting and working on the issues affecting the local community. The
NSW Opposition successfully applied pressure on the Government to
commit to redevelop Lourdes Hospital, which is currently
taking place. The re-development of the Parkes and Forbes Hospitals as
well as the upgrade of the Dubbo Base Hospital remain at the forefront
of his agenda. |
